HOW IT WORKED
Okay now! The very first time I used this shampoo, I really didn’t like it. I’m not sure why, but I had that straw thing going on when I used it. I used it once and didn’t use it again until months later. But one day I had a lot of product buildup from diy recipe testing and thought that maybe the Kiss My Face Whenever Shampoo could cut through it, so I used it again.
I was so so so surprised. Even though its SLS-free, it definitely gets your hair clean, make no mistake about that. When I rinsed this out, my hair was SUPER SHINY like I had put something on it to make it shine.
I have never used a shampoo… A SHAMPOO!…. that makes my hair as shiny as this one does. And my curls were popping as if I did an AVC rinse or something. I’m not kidding. Its counter-intuitive that curls would pop after using a shampoo, but mine did.
I’ve almost used the entire bottle and I need to figure out how/where to get the next one.
The ingredients in the bottle I got are outstanding. I specifically said “the bottle I got” because I think they’ve changed the formula more than once, so you’ll have to check the ingredients.
WHAT’S IN IT?
The formula I have is FULL of great extracts! Its in a semi-transparent green tinted bottle. The first ingredient in my bottle is Aloe Vera. However, online you’ll see a formula whose first ingredient is Organic Floral Water of Rosemary.
But you have to be careful, because there’s also a cheap-looking formula in a white bottle whose first ingredient is Water (Aqua).
Here’s the list of ingredients ON MY BOTTLE:
Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe vera), Rosemary Leaf Extract, Chamomile Flower Extract, Melissa Officinalis (Lemon Balm Leaf extract), Nettles Leaf Extract, Olive Leaf Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Sage Leaf Extract, Lavender Flower extract, Olefin Sulfonate, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sea Salt, Caprylic Acid, Glycine, Lavender Oil, Green Tea Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Tocopherol, Lime Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid
See? No garbage. No crap. No unnecessary mess. This shampoo doesn’t contain SLS. The cleanser here is Olefin Sulfonate which, make no mistake about it, is a very heavy-duty detergent. However, its waaay down on the list. For example, there’s more Lavendar Flower extract in this shampoo than detergent.
Again, be careful if you go out to buy this shampoo!! You could see a version in a white bottle whose first 5 ingredients are Water, Olefin Sulfonate, Sea Salt, Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Glycerin. Boooo!!
Don’t you just HATE when companies change a great formula into a cheap-behind formula!?
Anyway, these types of detergents (like Olefin Sulfonate) are extremely good at getting rid of all the dirt and product buildup in your hair.
NOTE: Olefin is used in Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo
Rosemary, Sage, and Nettle are excellent for dark, curly hair. For shine, you have the Lime oil, Green tea, Rosemary and Aloe Vera. All of these extracts work to help add strength over time to the hair whether they stay in or are washed out during your final rinse.
A lot of these extracts, like Rosemary, have antibacterial properties which help fight dandruff and may help prevent itchy scalp.
